“Something beautiful happened for me that day, He called. I was worried that I may have moved to quick. We know how touchy some of these guys can be. He was different, took his time with me. I didn’t know it at first at least until that next morning, I’m laying there naked and he walked in with breakfast - yes bitch breakfast. The entire set up, He knows I’m vegan so he looked out on all the specifics, It was so damn thoughtful. Not that forced type of interaction, I felt comfortable naked eating watching television while he cleaned the room keeping me company with warm conversation and the occasional joke or two. Then hit me with the question!”

– Damn near choking on her orange juice, Merci assumed what the question could be. Her and Shanice have been friends since the freshman year of college. They both watched out for each other, through the downfalls and upgrades together.

“Can you believe that! I’m sick looking at my phone like damn should I just fuck this moment up with blunt honesty or should I curve the issue, for now, suck his dick and distract him. it all was happening so fast, I just didn’t know what to do, So of course, I called you.”

Merci always gave Shanice the best advice, clearly because she really told her the truth every single time no matter how unconventional or inconvenient it may seem to Shanice and her always promiscuous lifestyle.

“You have to tell him, especially if you like him.”

Exasperated with so much truth, Shanice replied.

“Awe, But I don't want to right now we are having such a good time. You know how hard it is to find a guy who’s not crazy religious, ambitious, thoughtful, eats pussy cause he loves it and can cook!? I think I’m already having separation anxiety talking about it.”

……

Raymond grew up in an insanely violent neighborhood at the age of thirteen he lost his younger brother in a drive-by shooting. What’s fucked up is his brother could have survived if the ambulance hadn’t taken more than an hour to arrive. Neighbors clamored around in a confused exhibiton of horror with their cell phones further endorsing division, not just of people but for a process of thinking clear and logical for solutions to the monetized pollution of the human condition. This mindset motivated Raymond beyond his environment, at age 32 he graced the medical scene being added to a list of top three heart surgeons in the world.

“You gotta think bigger than today,

what about tomorrow and after that.

Ya already know how these women are,

they only want one thing, or two, ching-ching.”

It’s not that Raymonds best friend since high school Zafi doesn’t trust women, it’s that he doesn’t trust anyone really. One of the leading designers and creator of his own clothing line, his lifestyle is as exclusive as his friendships. Zafi would only speak about women he cared for with Raymond. Over drinks, going over video promotions Zafi pulled out his portfolio for the upcoming show.

“Oh wow! is that the new line!?” asked Raymond.

Since high school, they were like the black Kennedy’s, minus fucking the same broad type shit. They maintained and supported a moral position for each other’s balance in life.

“Sure is,” replied Zafi.

“First we are gonna break some peace upon it and smoke before I make the final calls for tonight’s show.”

Zafi ignored taboo visions of the fashion industry negating any pretentious, homo-erotic, bias extortion of talent, blinding pure creativity born organically from necessity. To him, it was not just clothes, models, lights, cameras and acknowledgment. It’s art, it’s life, it’s a science. Long ago Zafi built a wall around his heart larger than any dictator could imagine. Who could blame him after his last relationship ended like the twilight zone meets a really sad episode of friends.

“That bitch wasn’t shit!” Raymond hated to see Zafi alone and or worse taken advantage of, especially by women. Tonight as his friend, he had to be there not just for the show, but for his bro.

Rolling up the end of the paper full of marjiuna, Zafi smiled as he lit the end taking in the smoke, he slowly exhaled towards the stage. A level of peace covered him as he turned to ask Raymond.

“So.. how did everything go with that girl last night?”
